CatGenie; The Only Toilet For Cats (NOT A Litter Box)

CatGenie is a product made for cat owners who don't enjoy attending to their cats' litter box all the time and would like a simple and automatic way to replace this task. Some people are skeptical of such solutions, wondering if they really work or if their cat will actually use such a product. CatGenie, however, has been on the market for some time and customers are, on the whole, satisfied. The purpose of this review is to give you an idea of CatGenie's main advantages and flaws to help you make up your mind.

A lot of people are turned off by the idea of hooking a cat box up to their plumbing system. In fact, most people can easily set up the system on their own in about fifteen minutes. All you have to do is hook it to the cold water intake from your sink, toilet or washing machine. You then hook the drain hose so that it empties into your toilet or your washing machine's drainpipe. Most of the work necessary for maintaining the catgenie is done for you making it simple. Your average litter box needs to be cleaned after each litter cleaning unlike the CatGenie which cleans the unit as it's cleaning the granules. You should wipe the outside once in a while though. There's also a Maintenance Cartridge that you use occasionally which removes any grime or particles that may have built up. In addition you will also need to clean the water sensor once in a while too but that too is easy to do. Overall, cleaning and maintaining the CatGenie is easy, especially compared to the alternative.

One complaint made by many users of the CatGenie system is the noise that it makes. In fact, there's a 30 minute wash process and for most of this time, you won't hear anything. On the other hand the brief cycles when the water is draining might remind you of the sounds a washing machine might make. Some will find this a bit of an annoyance so you should really think about your sensitivity to sound as well as the location you intend o put it. You of course won't miss the sound of a cat scratching in a litter box when you realize it's completely nonexistent. As you can see the Cat Genie is a great alternative to those stinky litter boxes. You need to weigh the benefits of the CatGenie against the cost when you think about getting one. The biggest advantage to this system is that you won't ever smell a stinky litter box again nor will you have to clean one either.
