Revolution for Dogs - Information for Concerned Pet Owners

When your dog is flea and tick infested, chances are your home is, too. In an attempt to prevent this, many dog owners take the time to routinely clean their home, bathe their pets, and vacuum their carpets - but sometimes the parasites keep coming back. One all natural way to do a flea and tick riddance program in your home is to use salt. But they might only provide short relief - if your dog's fleas and ticks keep coming back and it keep getting reinfested, your home will suffer the same fate.

Topical solutions are one of the more effective ways of dealing with fleas and ticks - these are to be applied via a tube or vial on your dog's skin. Oral solutions are different from topical ones, since the former must be taken by mouth for the treatment to take effect. The oral treatment types can come in tablet form, which often need to be broken into bits depending on the dose required and may retain a medicine-like taste - probably why some dogs don't like them. There's a version of oral treatments that won't need you doing prep work and grinding - flavored ones that, some say, tastes like treats.

For some reason, some dog owners choose to use topical solutions instead of oral treatment. They work fast, you don't have to mix them with dog food, and they are often only given once a month - so there are no x marks on the calendar (scheduled doses) that may be missed when one is busy. Even when you factor in the meat-flavored chewable oral treatments - which some dogs do not like - there's nothing more convenient that squeezing a topical treatment tube and being done with the dose for that month.

Using a topical solution on your dog is so easy - probably why some dog owners prefer it. It's easy, just take a moment to wave aside the fur on the back of your dog's neck and apply the treatment from a tube - just squeeze it on your dog's skin. After that session, your dog will enjoy a month's protection from fleas and ticks - of course you have to do a monthly session to maintain the protection. That one session is going to kill those fleas and ticks currently inhabiting your dog's fur.

Along with this session, you're advised to continue cleaning the kennel, vacuuming the carpets, tidying up the upholstery, and washing the pet beddings. But at least you can rest assured the next treatment is far off - next month.
