Pet Urine Enzyme
Cat Urine Removal And Cleaning Guide by Robert Hillman
Although cats are the most adorable pets on this planet, cleaning and removing cat urine is a very challenging task.
Removing cat urine is the easy part, but getting rid of cat urine smell, is the problem. A cats urine contains so many organic materials such as uric acid, urochrome, urea and each gives cat urine a distinctive and very unpleasant odor.
All these components have a defining effect, with urea making the urine sticky, uric acid is responsible for the stench and urochrome gives it that color pigment. With this combination, when a cat urinates on a carpet or any other part of the house, it may require several methods to clean it up.
One can use normal kitchen products to remove urine for instance baking soda, detergent for dishes, white vinegar and three percent of hydrogen peroxide. Avoid using cleaning products containing ammonia, because it has a smell similar to cat urine. Apart from kitchen products, the other products consist of bacterial, enzymatic and chemical products.
Enzyme products neutralize urine odor, bacteria feeds on the element causing the odor and lastly chemical products target the odor. These products are available in most re-known grocery stores, pet stores and have a wide range of brands.
Cats urinate in specific areas to mark their territory and with this temperament; they will continue using the same spot whenever they want to urinate. As a result, it is best to remove that odor permanently from that spot to prevent this habit from continuing.
Practically how one can identify the spot where the cat urinated is through the crystals that form in at that point. When a cat urinates on a certain material for instance carpet, couch, after the urine dries up, it forms crystals and these crystals then produce the strong odor. For effective urine removal, it will require the use of enzyme-based cleaning products that will be able to break down the urine crystals.
The age of the stain matters, a fresh and wet stain is easier to remove than old stains that dried up a while ago. Although, there are products that can handle both ages of stains well, it is up to the cleaning person to decide. It is important to locate the urine stain before deciding on how to remove it, blot the stain with paper towels or any other absorbent cloth.
Remember never to rub urine, because it only spreads the stain. Apply weight to the absorbent cloth on top of the stain, wash the urine stain with warm water and blot again, for about 20-40 seconds. This will soak up most of the urine then apply an enzymatic cleaner.
Cat urine removal in this case will involve use of enzymatic cleaner after the above process. Enzymatic cleaner products are capable of removing both the urine stain and neutralize the strong distinctive cat urine odor.
In the removal process, one has to cover the stained area with foil after applying enzymatic cleaner but one should not immediately shampoo the carpet. If one wants to remove the odor successfully, avoid using normal household cleaning items. Hence, it is best to use quality cat urine cleaner products that will remove urine odor from any part of the house completely.
