Why Shouldn't Your Dog Be A Part Of Wedding Day? by Gen Wright

Planning a wedding, but not sure who'll be taking care of Fido while you say your "I do's"? Simple solution: make him a part of the wedding. Wait, wait, you may be thinking. What business could my dog possibly have at my wedding--or any, for that matter? Well, before you go judging the idea too harshly, consider his relationship to you, your spouse, and your close families. Consider something he can do that will not stop the ceremony dead in its tracks. Once you start thinking, consider these four questions:

He's well-behaved, isn't he? How long you've spent training him, of course, plays a part. You don't want a six-week old puppy trotting the ring down the aisle. He'll suffer a million distractions along the way. Even if you've had your dog six short months, however, you've probably taught him well enough to complete such a task. So behavioral issues are taken care of. What next?

He looks sharp in his dog tuxedo, doesn't he? Yes, this is a time to dress your dog up in a way that he (or she) has never experienced before. Male dogs can wear dog tuxedos, while female dogs can enjoy a variety of dog wedding outfits. Either way, his or her appearance is sure to be a hit with the guests at your wedding, and it will give your dog a reason to be proud in being a part of your special day.

You might as well get used to including him in as part of the family. And as for the guests, who could possibly hold out from sporting a smile on his face when Fido walks down the aisle?

Feel better about the decision? Remember, a pet doesn't have to play a pivotal role in any wedding. He can, but just having him there will be enough to make him, and you, happy.
